Multimarine Shipyards On The Cover Of DRYDOCK Magazine
The Maltese Falcon underwent repairs below waterline, followed by epoxy touch up, primer and was finished with Transoceanic antifouling in the yard’s Ereneos floating dock. In parallel to the above works, the topsides painting was carried out in an enclosed space created by scaffolding and a 2000m2 shrink wrap tent erected by the Multimarine Shipyards team. This created an internal air-conditioned tent to control the environment prior to commencing with the paint application. Works completed included:
A complete engineering service: valves overhauling, thruster overhauling, generators service, various hydraulic parts service, pumps overhaul and repairs, tail shafts machining and repairs, propellers polishing, anchor chains hot dip galvanisation, and various other repairs and tank cleaning works.
Hull treatment works: surface preparation for antifouling and topsides painting, with scaffolding and shrink wrap tent erection.
Accommodations areas: various repairs and modifications. Previously, the Multimarine Shipyards facilities hosted the 55m long Lili and Astra super yachts for onboard repairs, inspections and crew changes.
Multimarine Shipyards offers a complete range of services to yachts in Cyprus, which includes agency, crew changes, customs clearance, construction and use of a private quay for repairs and inspections (repairs quay). “Despite all challenges imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic during the past few months, our team managed to complete all scheduled work while implementing strict health and safety measures,” says Pavlos Phokas, Commercial Director of Multimarine Services Ltd.
