Multimarine Services Ltd, a GL Approved Welding Workshop, successfully completed the collision damage repairs of the GL Classed Vessel MARIA S MERIAN.
Renos Phokas commented: “Once more, Multimarine proved its ability to successfully execute major ship repair projects. As the only GL Approved Welding Workshop in Cyprus, we ensure our service meets at minimum the class requirements as well as exceeds our client’s expectations”.
The extensive repairs project included the following:
A. Collision Damage Repairs
1. Aft Transom damage with hole from top to bottom to close by welding boubling plates 2500x1000x10mm and 500x1000x10mm from outside Stiffeners fitted and welded from inside;
2. Aft Deck damage with hole to close by welding doubling plates 800x1100x10mm & 400x400x10mm from outside;
3. Deck timber to remove for access and for welding the doublers at the aft deck to close the hole;
4. Damaged bulwark sections to cut and remove away hinged door to remove from damaged bulwark and return to the vessel;
5. New temporary bulwark to build at the aft, port side, one section to be fixed and the other to be removable with chain rows supported with shackles and hooks;
6. Damaged pipe assemblies at the port side to disconnect and remove;
7. Damaged bulwark section with the rope rollers assembly to cut and remove;
8. The existing rope rollers assembly to repair by fabricating new support brackets and install / weld back in place;
9. Freefallboat complete with supporting frame, stanchions etc to remove away with a shore crane;
10. Damaged exhaust pipe to disconnect and remove;
11. Damaged sections of hand railings to repair;
12. Damaged plate of the rope winch to repair;
13. Crane boom rest to fit and weld in new position
B. Liferaft Rack - Triple Cradle with Stowages for Liferafts
1. Fabrication of a three liferaft rack similar to the one that existed onboard;
2. Installation of the rack at the stern of the vessel, aft deck, using legs bolted on the deck on sockets that existed and also supporting the aft end at the top of the bulwark;
3. Gritblasting and painting the rack by one coat primer
C. Carpenter's Workshop
1. Complete removal of the wall and deck head lining from the carpenter's workshop including the rockwool and the cover plates. All lining scraped due to getting wet from sea water absorption
D. Gangway Rental
Gangway rental during damage repair period
E. Liferaft Holding Down Straps
Supply 3 set liferaft holding down straps with hooks
