Repair work carried out at Larnaka Anchorage on non stop working basis starting on Friday (19/9/08) and completed on Saturday (20/9/2008).
One steel barge was used and moored alongside the tanker for facilitating the repair work with all necessary welding and cutting equipment and also with a generator set for powering the welding sets and the other electric tools, grinders etc
Scope of Repairs
1. Cropping and renewing the damaged shell plate in way of WBT No.1, at starboard side, approx 1,5m above water line.
2. New plate fitted: 1600 x 1300 x 10mm LR-A
3. All internal stiffeners cleaned and fully welded to the new plate (2 longitudinal side shell stiffeners and 1 vertical side shell stiffener)
4. New fitted plate inspected and NDT inspection certificate issued
5. New fitted plate inspected by Classification Society
